Dieser Fächer ist ein Künstlerfächer, gemalt vom kubanischen Maler Nelson Dominguez. Im Jahre 1997 stellte er eine Serie von bemalten Fächern in Havanna aus. Die Art der Montierung (à l'anglaise) sowie das schmale Fächerblatt aus Leinen lässt darauf schliessen, dass es sich um vorfabrizierte spanische Fächer gehandelt haben könnte, die der Künstler bemalt hat. Dafür spricht auch die teilweise Bemalung der Stäbe. Das Pfau-Motiv legt sich um das Halbrund des Fächers und wird durch die verwendeten "Pfauenfarben" noch unterstrichen. Für sentimentale Leser sei erwähnt, dass dieser Fächer der Ursprung für die "Manie, Passion, Verrücktheit" von mm's Fächersammlung war.

This fan is an Artist's fan, painted by Cuban contemporary artist Nelson Dominguez. He painted a series of fans and exhibite them in La Habana in 1997. As the fan is mounted à l'anglaise and has a small fan leaf made of linen, it can be assumed that he painted on pre-fabricated Spanish fans. His overpainting of the sticks underlines this assumption. The peacock-motive is spread along the semi-circle of the fan-leaf and enhanced by using the "peacock-colours" blue and green.
