Paul Avril (*1843 Algier, + 1928 Le Raincy) hiess eigentlich Edouard-Henry Avril. Er war Illustrator, der von 1878-1884 regelmässig im Salon für Porträts und Figurengruppen (Paris) ausstellte und für "Monde Illustré" arbeitete. Er zeichnete oft nach Modellen des 17. Jahrhunderts, etwa Fragonard.

He worked for the "Monde Ilustré" and liked to take model paintings/drawings from the 17th century, in a Fragonard-style.
