About the LEKTOR project and legal issues for e-business

"Practical relevance of legal problems increases with the intensity with which enterprises are engaged in eBusiness activities". This key finding results from interviews with SMEs in 2004. What is perceived as a legal barrier, however, is in most cases simply a lack of awareness of existing legislation.

LEKTOR will as a first step identify what companies PERCEIVE as legal barriers and create an informative, easy to consult eCatalogue of legal issues, built up like a legal WIKIPEDIA.

The sharing imperative includes not only stuff but also ideas [...]. From this openness spring galaxies of supporting applications, revolving around a core web service". This is the vision of Stewart Butterfield, but also the vision of LEKTOR. Sharing, not as "give away" but as "give and take".

LEKTOR will create on-line tools that facilitate sharing of experience, knowledge & information on key legal issues affecting eBusiness.

 

Through the participation of partners from all over Europe, India, Chile and California, it will actively support legal security in an internationl business environment.
