| CompTrain is a project co-funded by the LEONARDO programme of the European Commission. Its endeavour is to define harmonised skills and competences description for multimedia jobs and jobs involving new technologies, based on market needs. Training curricula will be benchmarked against these needs and specific modules will be developed. Training Institutions that adapt these modules will receive a "Label of Excellence", endorsed by the multimedia industry through EMMAC - European Multimedia Associations Convention. | ![]() |

| Today, the lack of harmonised job desriptions and thus, clear
definitions of skills and competences needed, reduce the market chances
of both, professionals to find an adequate job as well as companies to find
adequate staff. CompTrain's endeavour is to analyse the status quo, define market needs and draft a catalogue of it. On-line tools such as a searchable database or a self-assessment tool will be installed and tested in a Trial Phase. CompTrain will not re-invent the wheel but is based on the findings of the NAME project. It will collaborate with European and regional initiatives, such as eSkills (CEN/ISSS). Final results will be a harmonised approach of the three key players: Training Institutions, companies and professionals that corresponds to real market needs and expectations. STEPS FORWARD: |
