Fächer des "Zweiten Empire" (1852-1870) aus Seide, mit Pailletten in Blütenranken bestickt. Das Mittelmedaillon ist ein Kupferstich von Pomel ("Pomel sculpt."), ein tanzendes Paar in Biedermeier-Kleidung (siehe Detail unten). Die Stäbe sind aus (exotischem?) Holz und mit runden Messingplättchen verziert. Kopf und Auge aus Elfenbein. Ch. Kammerl beschreibt in ihrem Buch "Der Fächer" ein ähnliches Mittelmedaillon mit einem Kupferstich von Pomel (S. 213). Dieser Fächer wurde 1900 von Duvelleroy angefertigt, unter Verwendung einer Kupferstichplatte aus 1830. Das Gestell ist stilistisch jedoch völlig anders, sodass der hier abgebildete Fächer eventuell aus 1830 stammen könnte. Vermutlich Frankreich.

Fan of the second "Empire" (1825-1870) made of cream-colored silk, embroidered with sequins in a floral motif. The central vignette is a copper plate print by Pomel ("Pomel sculpt."), showing a dancing couple dressed in 1820/30 costumes (see detail below), the sticks are made of (exotic?) wood, with small brass discs as decoration. Head and eye are made of ivory. Ch. Kammerl describes in her book "Der Fächer" a similar medaillon with a copper plate print by Pomel (p. 213), made by Duvelleroy in 1900 using a copper plate dating from 1830. Given the different type of sticks, it may well be that the fan shown here dates from 1830. Probably France.
