PHANTASIE SCHILDPATT/FANTASY TORTOISE SHELL

"Phantasie"- Fächer mit dunklen kleinen Federchen auf geflecktem Schildpatt appliziert. An den Spitzen leicht blau irisierende Federn. Zwei kleine Schmetterlinge sind links und rechts aus Federn appliziert (am Foto kaum sichtbar), mit Körper aus Kunststoff. Die Stäbe sind aus geflecktem Schildpatt (Carey) und durchgehend in der Art eines Brisé-Fächers. Bügel aus demselben Material. Österreich, ca. 1900. Rückseite unten.

Fantasy-Fan with darkish small feathers applied on mottled tortoise-shell. On the tops, the feathers are slightly bluishly iridescent. Two small butterflies (hardly visible on the photo) are applied in feathers, their bodies made of some sort of plastic (celluloid?). The sticks are made of mottled tortoise-shell (carey), also on the back, like a brisé-fan. Loop of the same material. Austria, around 1900. Reverse below.
