Beinahe durchsichtiger Zelluloid-Fächer, auf einer Seite mit Kornblumen (Ölfarbe?) bemalt. Die am oberen Ende unbemalten Stäbe haben einen nachgedunkelten goldenen Punkt. Das eher dicke Band scheint original zu sein. Der Bügel und die Kappe in Schildpatt-Imitat sind breiter als üblich. Ein kaum sichtbares, eingestanztes "2c" am Bügel könnte darauf hinweisen, dass der Fächer ursprünglich 2 Cent gekostet hat und aus den USA stammt. Offenbar durch Hitzeeinwirkung sind die Stäbe knapp über dem Dorn gewellt. In seiner Durchsichtigkeit erinnert der Fächer an ebenso durchsichtige Fächer aus Horn, wie sie um 1815/20 modern waren.

Almost transparent celluloid fan, one side painted with corn flowers (oil paint?). The sticks with no painting on the top end display a darkened golden dot. The rather thick ribbon appears to be original. The loop and the cap (the latter imitating tortoise-shell) are broader than usual. A hardly visible, punched "2c" on the loop may refer to its original selling price of 2 Cents and thus, to its American origin. Just above the pivot, the sticks are twisted, possibly due to heat impact. In its transparency the fan reminds of the small horn fans of 1815/20.
