Zelluloid-Fächer in Schildpatt-Imitat. Am oberen Ende der Stäbe wurden braune und grüne Federn appliziert. Um die letzte Jahrhundertwende war der Material-Mix Zelluloid/Federn sehr beliebt, bis hin zu Rekonstruktionen ganzer Vogelköpfe an den Deckstäben (siehe Cynthia Fendel, Biblio Nr. 47, p.40/41). Ein ähnlicher Fächer (allerdings in schlechtem Zustand), mit eingefärbten, blauen Federn und Zelluloid als Elfenbein-Imitat ist unten abgebildet.

Celluloid Fan imitating tortoise-shell. At the top of each stick, brown and green feathers are applied. At the turn of the last century, the material mix celluloid/feathers was in fashion. To the point that whole birds' heads were taxidermised and applied on the guard sticks (see Cynthis Fendel, Library No. 47, p.40/41). Original silk ribbon. Austria, around 1900.
